In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cats' personalities.
Freija (the cameo tabby) is quite the playful and sweet one. She loves tummy rubs and plays fetch. She is adorable. Her favorite toy is a rattan ball. She seems to like pink.
Maja (the darker tabby) is the sweet elusive one. She loves her cat wand and her tuna. She loves running around trying to catch imaginary insects. (I think they’re imaginary.) She’s the naughtier one, though. Always climbing up kitchen counters and such.
How have your cats transformed your life from the moment you've met them till now?
They have made our lives richer with their personalities, their quirks, and their presence!
What do your cats mean to you?
They are our sweet little balls of fluff! We love that they have minds of their own and that they have such different but complementing personalities!
How did you and your cats first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.
Maja was brought to us by a need, some research, a recommendation by TICA, and a team of really good people from a cattery in Bogor, Indonesia. And since all of these stars aligned, you could also say she was brought to us by destiny.
❤️🐱❤️
We are so glad that she was ready for us when we needed her. It’s as if she was meant for our family and we adore her.
❤️🐱❤️
We realized that Maja would benefit from having some company while we were out for the day. And so we decided, after about a week of having Maja, that we could take another sweetheart in.
❤️🐱❤️
We inquired from the same cattery we got Maja from, planning to get her brother. We ended up getting her playmate. And now, this adorable furball of energy is part of our family.
What do you think your cats think of you?
They see us as their provider, family, and loved ones.
Your cats are part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that they consider you part of theirs?
They curl up next to use when they sleep. They groom us with licks. They give us head butts. They ask us to play with them (fetch, anyone?). They basically plant themselves in whichever room most of us are in. They talk to us when they need food, playtime, or just reassurance that we are there.
Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?
It is important to connect with other like-minded people. Families who understand what it means to have a cat as part of their circle of beloveds.
Part of this is also us wanting to show that even if our cats are not rescued, it does not mean that they came from greedy breeders. The cattery we got the two from has a very responsible owner at the helm. He provides all his cats with space to be cats, he knows all their names (even those he's sent out to be adopted), he has a small group of people whom he has hired to make sure all are taken care of 24/7.
We are impressed by people who know how it is to have a cat. To really have a cat, without the humour shared in media. How stabilising it can be. How calming, How much beauty and sweetness they bring into the home. We think everyone should know about it. So they see a cat as not just an animal, but as someone who needs love too.
