Where is your cat family located in?

Queensland, Australia.

What are the breeds of your cats?

Lucky is a Lynxpoint Siamese/Persian cross Burmese/Ragdoll.

Dusty is a half Tortoiseshell Persian/ Unknown.

Sunny is a Domestic Shorthair Tabby cross.

How old are your cats?

Lucky is 4, Dusty is 5, and Sunny is 1 year old.

Where can we find your cats on social media?

On Instagram @lucky.dusty.sunny

In a few short words/sentences, tell us about your cats' personalities.

Lucky AKA Luckyboy is a total clown that loves playing chasey/hide & seek. He's social and very vocal, but not a lap cat. he has a V12 purr!!

Dusty is skittish and yearns to roam the great outdoors. She's extremely affectionate- when it suits her. Loves belly rubs! Although she adored her previous brofurs (RIP), she alas can't abide Lucky and Sunny.

Sunny is a happy little chappy with some strange eating habits. He's extremely engaging, affectionate, and playful. He and Lucky are BFFs and playfight for hours. He's an excellent hunter and constantly brings in frogs, lizards, moths etc...much to my horror!!

How have your cats transformed your life from the moment you've met them till now?

Well, my life pretty much revolves around these 3. Confined cats are much higher maintenance than cats that roam. They need you to spend time with them and they require a certain amount of entertainment. But I wouldn't have it any other way. I never go on holidays because I hate leaving them!

What do your cats mean to you?

I chose to have cats instead of kids. I've had cats most of my life and wouldn't want to be without them. They are my babies.

How did you and your cats first meet? Tell it to us in the form of a short story.

Lucky and Dusty were sourced via Gumtree. Each time I was looking for a long-haired tabby to replace 2 beautiful babies who had sadly passed away. They both had faint tabby markings as kittens. I fell in love with each of them instantly.

But I still yearned for a long-haired tabby, so when I saw Sunny advertised from a shelter in Brisbane it was love at first sight. Because he was a rescue cat, there was an application process. His picture was so adorable it had gone viral on Gumtree and had many applications. There were a few sleepless nights worrying someone else would get him first. I felt so blessed to be the lucky one!

What do you think your cats think of you?

Definitely they think we are a family and they can sense we belong together. You can notice it, especially when you move places. I don't think they stick with us only because of the food. They feel loved and safe with us.

Your cats are part of your family. What are some things they do that make you think that they consider you part of theirs?

Both Lucky and Sunny sleep on our bed with us. Unfortunately Dusty hasn't slept on the bed since her confinement and the death of her favourite big brofur. But she does love to cozy up on the couch at every given opportunity. Both Sunny and Dusty like to knead and suckle my clothing- like I'm mama cat.

Why do you feel that it is important to show the world that Cats are Family?

I think a lot of people get cats because they perceive them to be low maintenance. That's a mistake in my view. Like any relationship - you get what you put in. It's important to give them quality time if you want to have a rewarding exchange with them.
